About the MAL
Founded by Odsen “Hudson” Piton with help from Ahmad Polad, the Muslim Athletic League also known as MAL, incorporated in the state of Massachusetts on July 1, 2008. Based in Boston, the MAL aims to touch the lives of youth in a variety of communities. Here at the MAL, it’s more than just sports. Through our sports programs, we work to accomplish the following:
- Provide at-risk youth a platform to demonstrate their God given athletic talents as well as the opportunity to network with diverse and talented individuals.
- Help youth develop skills they can apply in everyday situations, learn sportsmanship, and learn to be themselves while engaging in society with confidence.
- Teach youth social responsibility, how to live healthy lives, and the importance of making smarter life choices which in the end will keep them out of trouble and away from drugs and gangs.
In the future, through grants, corporate sponsorship, and donations from people like you, we aspire to build community centers in many communities just like the YMCA (Young Men’s Christian Association). The Muslim Athletic League is committed to making youth development and respect of diversity its forte.
